I’m a 20-something year old web and graphic designer, CSS enthusiast, wannabe illustrator and general geek based in Perth, Australia. I currently work as the lead designer for the Centre for Software Practice based in the University of Western Australia, where I design and implement websites for a variety of different content management systems, as well as occasional print and branding work and general chatting with clients. At home I still spend a lot of time keeping up to date with the web industry and working on personal projects, such as this site you see here.

I love Firefox, loathe IE, am greatly pained by MySpace profiles, can’t go to a restaurant without analysing the design of the menu and currently have an addiction for Web 2.0~esque startups.

Besides design work I like to draw, watch anime, study kung fu, take photos of random things and hang out with my friends.

Besides my full time work I’m interested in doing some freelance web design work, particularly for artists or photographers after a gallery web presence, individuals after blogs or photo albums or people who want to do something pretty with their MySpace, LiveJournal or DeviantArt Journal and don’t have time to figure out how. I’m happy to be a part of the whole process from domain and hosting registration to design and coding, or if you only need help in a certain area I can just help with that too.

About the ChiGarden

From somewhat random choice in domain name, ChiGarden has somehow become a representation of inner peace and imagination to me - a fantastical retreat away from distractions and responsibilities. This website brings in many aspects of me - my thoughts in the blog, my work and photos, links to things I find interesting or inspiring. It was made with Expression Engine, Illustrator, lots of hard work and much cursing of IE.

Besides this website the ChiGarden has become the basis of several character designs and often the subject of my artwork.
